Monte Christo On The River

I went to for dinner on Christmas Eve and felt we were an inconvenience. We had to ask for dinner rolls, were left waiting after our order for over an hour and a half. Once we got served, no one came back to the table to see if we got everthing, (which we didn't). We weren't offered more rolls, or asked if we would like to top up our drinks. No appology for the bad service and mediocore food. And the bill was half a month's rent. I would definitaly not repeat this experience, nor recommend in any way. It's too bad, because at one time, I really enjoyed there lamb dinner.

I like to bring out of towners here for a lunch in the summer. You can sit outside along the canal and watch the seals. Large menu, prompt service, good specials. I have not had very positive experience at supper for some reason. I think the menu selection is too large and needs to be pared down so they can concentrate on what they do well.

wonderful food and service.. a bit pricey but definately worth it!
